Louisiana vs Indianapolis: Running Back Duane Sammons

Duane Sammons

Houma, La. Reporter Jack MeHoff: Duane, first of all, congratulations on your fantastic performance during the preseason game against the Indianapolis Ramblers. You rushed for 66 yards with a remarkable 9.4 yards per carry and even scored a touchdown. How did you feel about your overall performance?

Duane Sammons: Thank you. I appreciate the kind words. I felt great about my performance during the game. The offensive line did an excellent job opening up running lanes, and I was able to make some solid runs. Scoring a touchdown was an incredible feeling, and it was a great confidence booster heading into the regular season.

Reporter Jenny Talya: Unfortunately, you suffered a hyper-extended elbow injury towards the end of the first quarter, which forced you out of the game. Can you tell us more about the injury and how you’re feeling now?

Duane Sammons: It was an unfortunate incident during the game. I hyper-extended my elbow after a tackle, and it caused some discomfort. I’m currently working closely with the team’s medical staff to assess the extent of the injury and determine the best course of action for recovery. Right now, I’m taking it day by day, and I’m doing everything I can to get back to full strength as soon as possible.

Reporter Pat McKrotch: With the season opener against the Atlanta Swarm just around the corner, do you expect to be ready to play? How is the rehabilitation process going?

Duane Sammons: I’m doing my best to make a swift recovery and be ready for the season opener against the Atlanta Swarm. The rehabilitation process is going well, and I’m putting in the necessary work to strengthen my elbow and regain my full range of motion. My goal is to be back on the field with my teammates, and I’m staying positive and focused on that.
